Derek J Sued Due To Accusation Of Stealing Client’s Weave Tracks
The Real Housewives of Atlanta love their hair stylists, one of which is Derek J. In a rather bizarre lawsuit, a regular (non-famous) client is suing him, according to Radar Online. Why are they suing him?
The client claims to Radar Online, “I had my sew-in taken out to be reinstalled. Derek led his team to steal my hair, then Derek installed used … cheap hair in my head. He also encouraged other stylists to steal my hair. After, I did mention to him that I thought it looked a little thin, but he swore up and down that he put all the hair back in, and I never even dreamed that I had completely different hair. To my horror, when I got home, I quickly realized I didn’t have all the hair on my head. The hair started to change. I was noticing the ends were really super frayed. I was like, ‘This is just not my hair!’ My hair was brand new.”
She continued, “I am not a celebrity, but I own my own business, and my contracts are with Fortune 100, 200 companies. With Derek, I paid around $700. I’m paying this type of money so I can look presentable to these people. I’m not Kenya Moore and I’m not gonna fight you for my hair. But I know I can’t be the only person he’s done this to. Not the first, and definitely not the last. I want to give other women a platform to stand on, in the event that he does that again.”
Derek responded to Radar, telling them, “It was basically a misunderstanding. She had hair in, and I took her hair out to wash it, and putting it back in is like putting a puzzle back together. If it gets misconfigured, it won’t have the same look as it did. That’s basically what happened, that it didn’t get put back in as it was supposed to. I have been doing hair for 15 years and I’ve never had this issue. Unfortunately, when you start to raise your profile, certain things start to happen to you. I have celebrity clients, so to have this regular woman accuse me of this, it’s like, ‘Lady, sit down!”
The woman is suing for over $2000.00.

This might be my favorite Real Mr Housewife article of all time
Hmm, “regular woman”? He better hope his “celebrity clients” don’t go away. I think the regular people won’t be blowing up the phone lines to get an appointment. I’m thankful my stylist makes me feel that I’m her most important client whenever I’m in her chair.
