Brooks and Vicki Awarded Right To Have Court Documents Sealed

Although the judge in their court case initially said that their documents would not be sealed simply because they’re celebrities, it seems there was a change of heart as Brooks Ayers and Vicki Gunvalson from the Real Housewives of Orange County have been awarded this right via  a protective order. What specifically was said in the protective order?

The protective order states that “Disclosure and discovery activity in this action are likely to involve production of confidential, proprietary, or private information… [Brooks and Vicki] are celebrities, and tabloids and other news media have shown an interest in publishing information about their lives.”

Brooks and Vicki requested that the court “allow them to file confidential information under seal, unless otherwise stipulated by the parties in writing.”

However, in this protective order it was made clear that NOT all paperwork will be labeled as confidential and sealed, as “any party or non-party may challenge a designation of confidentiality at any time.”

Interesting. Do you think Brooks and Vicki were in the right to have this protective order issued or do you think all of the information should be public? Let us know.
