When Will RHOBH Premiere?
Recently, Andy Cohen shared that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season preview will be coming soon. But when will the season premiere? I think I have the answer.
Normally, RHOBH premieres alongside the Real Housewives of Atlanta in early November. So early November is coming and there’s no sign of the Beverly Hills ladies. What gives?
Well, part of the issue is that Bravo doesn’t have enough Real Housewives episodes to span the calendar like they used to. They’ve remained quiet on whether or not the Real Housewives of Miami will return and the Real Housewives of New Jersey had a shorter than normal season. This has led to less Housewives episodes to air and the network needing to spread the franchises out a bit more.
So when will it premiere? There are a number of factors:
- Vanderpump Rules– Well, last season when Bravo launched RHOBH, they did it along with Vanderpump Rules. This is obviously not happening this year, as Vanderpump Rules is premiering next week. It is guaranteed that at least a few weeks will overlap between the two series, though, as they play off of each other and build a strong night of ratings for the network.
- The trailer release date– Bravo normally releases the season preview for their shows one-and-a-half to two months before a show premieres. For example, they released Atlanta‘s trailer a month and a week before its upcoming premiere. If they premiered the RHOBH preview next week, that would put the premiere at a mid-December launch. That leads to…
- The holiday season– The month of December is often pretty dead on TV. I highly doubt that Bravo will premiere one of their most important shows in the midst of one of the least watched months of the year. That’s not to say it isn’t possible, as there were new episodes through December last year of RHOA, RHOBH, and Vanderpump Rules. I just think that the launch in that month is highly unlikely.
- Millionaire Matchmaker- Despite December’s woes, it was announced that Millionaire Matchmaker will be using the monster ratings of RHOA to help it launch as it was announced for an early December return, but no mention of RHOBH.
All of that, in my opinion, leads to an early to mid-January launch of the show. This would allow plenty of time for the show to be promoted and for some of the episodes to also overlap with Vanderpump Rules.
