Gay Marriage Legalized My Reaction

Yesterday, gay marriage was officially legalized in the USA. I wanted to take a minute to share my thoughts.

Gay Marriage Legalized My Reaction

I rarely get personal on here, but here is my personal reaction I shared on my personal Facebook this morning:

I have been blessed in this lifetime so much to know and experience love. To be able to wake up everyday next to the man that I love and am fortunate enough to call my husband. That’s not to say I didn’t experience hate. I remember years of being called a faggot. Times of people whispering about me being gay, long before I told them. Even as recently as last year, I recall walking into a local establishment and hearing a gay remark. Luckily, yesterday is evidence that the world is changing and changing for the better. To the teens struggling with self identity, never give up. It does get better and it continues to get better. Yesterday is proof that one day there won’t be “gay marriage,” there will just be marriage. One day there won’t be “gay” and “straight,” there will just be people. And no matter what scriptures or biblical posts anyone can quote, I promise that’s the way it was intended to be. Live each day with peace and love in your heart. Differences are what make us unique, but they’re also what make us human. And the fact that we are human beings evolving in our thoughts towards a greater love and acceptance is truly a beautiful thing. 😀 XO ‪#‎NoH8‬ ‪#‎LoveWins‬ ‪#‎TheTimeIsNow‬ ‪#‎LoveCantWait‬ ‪#‎MarriageEquality‬
