Brittany Cartwright Defends Mom Against Homophobia Claims

“100% Not That Way!”

Recently, Vanderpump Rules star Brittany Cartwright‘s Mom came under fire when she visited Cartwright in LA and appeared to many to be homophobic. Cartwright appeared on the Pump Rules Podcast with her gay BFF Zack Wickham to address the issue. What did she have to say? Read on for details.

Wickham first spoke on the issue, noting, “Sometimes things are can easily be taken out of context, espsecially when you have Brittany’s Mom coming to LA basically for her first time… Things are translated differently and she’s never had to ask a question a certain way… As someone who is gay.. her Mom is a great person who is so open and never once has been a gay hater by any means. She loves everyone. And she’s always supported me as well… Okay she might have misspoke on something- because she could have worded it better maybe- but that doesn’t take away the fact that she is one of the greatest people and a huge supporter of LGBT rights.”

“Thank you,” Cartwright added, “because she is 100% not that way. And I, I feel so bad it looked like that. That is not how she is at all. She is an amazing woman. It broke my heart…”

It is common for reality shows to edit people to look a certain way, so we appreciate Cartwright and her friend offering a further explanation.
