Kinky Boots Is Better Than Ever

Better Than Ever!

While I saw Broadway’s Kinky Boots with the original cast a few years ago, I was excited to get the opportunity to return to the show to see Panic At The Disco‘s Brendon Urie starring in it. How would a rockstar hold up on Broadway? And would the show still be as good as it was years ago? The answer to the second question is a resounding yes- and, in fact, it’s better than ever in my opinion.

Kinky Boots Is Better Than Ever

One of the things that made this visit so special was seeing Urie perform. He made a flawless transition from rockstar to Broadway star, and after seeing him live, it’s clear he has a bright future on Broadway if that’s what he decides to pursue. Also of note was that I enjoyed his performance much more than the original person who starred in his role.

Apart from Urie, the other standout was J. Harrison Ghee who made his Broadway debut here as Lola. He was just as good- if not better than original Billy Porter.

Finally, aside from the two leads is the fact that the story is just as moving and as relevant as ever. I found myself laughing, crying, and moved to my feet by the end of the show.

If you get a chance to check out this cast in Kinky Boots on Broadway, do yourself a favor and go. You won’t regret it.
