Here’s his response so that YOU can get that style, too!
“I was asked, ‘how Bruno Mars achieves the volume in his hair style?’
Bruno Mars’s hairstyle is what’s known as a pompadour, which means tightly cropped sides and back with length and volume on the top.
The best hair texture for this hair style is thick and curly. If you are not fortunate enough to have this textured hair, then you need to create volume and wave.
First, create volume using a volumizing hair cream or spray and a blow dryer. Begin by applying your volumizing product to the lengths in the top of your hair, comb through to distribute it evenly, using a small round brush, and then blowout hair rolling up and back angling slightly towards the middle of top of head. Once your hair is dry, use a curling iron or hot curling brush (curling iron with plastic spikes for grabbing the hair), about one inch in diameter depending on the lengths of hair, taking one section at a time and curl the hair in the same direction as you blew out the hair. Do not brush out until your hair has cooled. Once your hair has cooled, use a flat brush and brush up and back. Follow this up with pomade for shine and hold. Pomade the sides and back, and comb into the shape.
There you have it, your Bruno Mars pompadour.”
This sounds fun! We will definitely have to try this with our hair at some point!
