While Heather McDonald is known best for her standup comedy, awesome Podcast show “Juicy Scoop” and her time spent on Chelsea Lately, this week on McDonald’s Podcast she opened up about how she was sexually harassed by the owner of PodCast one, Norm Pattiz. Read on to see what she said.

“I was scared to put it out there,” McDonald began. “Basically, what happened was, I did not like the person who ran Podcast One. So his name is Norm Pattiz and I didn’t have that much contact with him because I’d only come in once a week. There was enough that it made me uncomfortable. Where I taped was a different floor. So I would like to go down to the first floor where he was to ask about my bookings. I accepted that he was over 70. I accepted that he liked to give me compliments. It was kind of uncomfortable. It’d be like ‘That’s the best dress you’ve worn so far’ or I’d ask for the key to the bathroom and he’d be like ‘Can I follow you in there?’ Okay, I’m not being raped. There’s not a tongue down my throat, but I’m just not comfortable anymore. I sort of avoided that and I would just call the girl that booked the people.”

“My year was coming up and I thought I really don’t enjoy this, maybe I can just figure out some other way to do this, “she continued.. “I don’t know. I loved doing Juicy Scoop so much and I loved the response I was getting from you guys… There were a couple of things. They wanted at Podcast one… any episode that was more than six weeks old they wanted me to put behind a pay wall. And it was going to be $7.99. I said I don’t want to do that.”

“I had to tell this guy I didn’t want to do that and he was very angry about it and bullying me,” she added. “I started to avoid any interaction with him. One day I was there and it was the end of my Podcast. I was doing all my ads and I see him walk into the booth and I said ‘Hey I want to talk to you but I have to go to a meeting.’ Then he comes into the room where I’m taping and I go ‘Well, I’ve got one more ad to do. Let me just get through it.’”

McDonald then played a recording from a time he harassed her where she told Pattiz she was doing her last ad. She goes on to do a bra ad and in a disgusting and inappropriate fashion, Pattiz says, “Wait a minute, can I hold your breasts? Would that help?” McDonald says “No.”

“I just wanted to get out of there so I got out of there,” she added. “I literally called that day and I said I don’t think I’m going to do a Podcast anymore. I think I’ll just do it from my home, whatever. I just never really wanted to go back there. Then he wrote an email and said please i think there’s a way we can make it wroth your while. Can we have this meeting? I said sure. And then I- without letting him know- I brought my husband to the meeting. “

“Sure enough,” McDonald wrapped with saying, “a couple of day later, what he said verbally in front of my husband and I was not true. It was another advance. If I signed it I would have bene trapped for another two years. I said forget it and I started to do it from home. I kept moving to different servers because he wasn’t letting me do it… He was threatening them. I kept thinking, ‘Oh my God. I just want my Juicy Scoop.’.. We had to hire an attorney and eventually I was able to do it on my own.”

We applaud McDonaldl for being brave enough to share this story. This is an awful experience no woman should have to go through and her putting it out there is brave and will certainly help other women.
